What we do
To date, our role has been limited to providing advice and recommendations:
- we inform our customers of the impact of using video (in terms of energy, accessibility and site performance), particularly when there are ambitions to make extensive use of this type of media.
- However, as service providers, we do not have the power (or the desire) to prevent or severely limit the use of a medium which, from time to time, proves to be truly relevant. We therefore provide information, but leave our clients and customers complete freedom to manage their content and use video extensively.
What we could improve
- Where budgets allow, we systematically offer to convert videos into lighter content, such as infographics, whenever the subject of the video permits this.
- Before a site containing videos goes into production, we ensure that the video metadata is completed in a relevant manner
