What we do

As with all content-related issues, our role is limited to providing advice, warnings and recommendations. We then take marginal action on the technical aspect by implementing compression tools for media that allow it.

• All our servers compress documents using a specific library (NGINX ZIP).
• When projects involve a large number of documents to be consulted or downloaded, we include a reference to the type of file to be downloaded and its weight in the design.

What we could improve / implement

• We should systematically include information on the type and size of files to be downloaded in the designs, regardless of the site concerned.
